Robert Fagg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Click Funeral Home & Cremations - Middlebrook Chapel on Mar. 31, 2026.
Robert Milton Fagg, 86, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Robert "Bob" was born on February 18, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee to Milton Drummond and Marie Perry Fagg. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School and attended Little Rock University before enlisting in the US Navy where he proudly served for 6 years. In 1964 he began his career with Southern Bell in Memphis. On November 20, 1965 he married the love of his life, Sally Lee Hodges and they had two daughters, Laurie Lee and Lisa Marie. His career led him to Nashville and Birmingham before settling in East Tennessee where he and Sally built a beautiful life with their family in West Knoxville. Bob was a loyal employee of South Central Bell for 27 years and retired in 1991.

Bob enjoyed playing golf, fishing, photography, and vacationing with his family. Some of his treasured memories were attending the many activities of his daughters and grandchildren, especially music and sports.

He and Sally actively participated in many groups at Concord United Methodist Church where they were members of the Searchers Sunday School class. Bob served as an usher for many years, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, and was a long time member of the United Methodist Men.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Drummond and Marie Perry Fagg; In-Laws, Bob and Frances Hodges; and daughter, Laurie Lee Fagg Sluder.

Bob leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sally; his daughter, Lisa Ownby (Jon); grandchildren, Rachel Ownby (Ben Potter), Rhiley Cupp (Dusty), Elizabeth Ownby, Joe Sluder (Shannon) and Jack Sluder; great-grandchildren, Alexis Shelton, Hudson Cupp, as well as two soon-to-be great-grandsons, Hollis Mack Cupp and Robert Joseph Sluder, Jr. He is also remembered fondly by Mark Sluder (husband of the late Laurie Sluder) and cousins, Steve Perry (Wendy) and Lisa Kuntz.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 4th from 2p-3p at Concord United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3p with full Military Honors to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord United Methodist Church Mission Fund c/o Concord United Methodist Church, 11020 Roane Drive, Farragut, Tennessee 37934. Link for online memorials: Concord United Methodist Church
