Robert Failla Obituary

Robert "Champ" Failla, 70, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in Pittsfield on March 26, 1955, Bob was the son of the late Vincent and Arline (Driscoll) Failla. He graduated from Lee High School in 1973 and went on to work as a Low Voltage Electrician until his retirement in 2003.

Bob was a man of many passions. He took pride in working on his home, tending to his gardens, and perfecting his landscaping. An avid golfer known affectionately as "Champ," he was always happiest on the course. Bob was also a devoted fan of Bruce Springsteen-his first concert was at the Music Inn in Lenox in 1975, and from then on, he went on to see "The Boss" over 100 times. He cherished watching his beloved Yankees, but above all, his greatest joy was time spent with his family.

At the heart of Bob's life was his daughter, Courtney. She was his world-his pride, his joy, and his constant inspiration. He was a loving, supportive, and endlessly devoted father who affectionately called her his "Rock Star," a nickname that perfectly captured the bond they shared and the love he carried for her every single day.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Courtney Failla of Haverhill; his wife, Lee (Vella) Failla; his sister, Marie (Failla) Beron and her wife, Diana Goddard; nephews, Harry Beron and wife Becki (Hall) and Robert Beron and wife Kasey (Connors); as well as great-nieces, Rhea and Maddi, all of Pittsfield. He also leaves behind his loyal dog and constant companion, Chase.

He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Arline Failla, and his brother, Louis Failla.

Bob will be remembered always for his humor, his passions, his unwavering love for family, and the deep mark he left on the hearts of those who knew him.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held at Dery Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at the Proprietor's Lodge, 22 Waubeek Road, Pittsfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saving with Bria, Inc., in honor of Bob's lifelong love of dogs and mailed to Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
