Robert Gail Farmer, 80, of Pace, Florida, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 18, 2022.
Robert was a native of Santa Rosa County, the youngest of six children born to the late John Samuel Clifford and Viola (Nelson) Farmer. In his younger years, Robert was employed in maintenance at Pensacola Junior College. Later, he worked as a carpenter, painter, and handyman. He was a faithful member of Pace Assembly Ministries where he served in the roles of usher, greeter, and church van driver, bringing others to the house of the Lord.
Robert was a loving and devoted single father to his two girls. He worked hard to provide for them, and above all, gave them a firm foundation in Christ. He was a doting PawPaw to his grandchildren. He loved to spend time with them.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Samuel Farmer, Jr., sisters, Vera (Frank) Kolb, Addie Francis Suarez, and Annie Ruth (Harvey) Morris; his adopted daughter, Wanda Gail Stephens; and his adopted son James.
He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Kay Farmer of Pace, Florida, and Robin Gail (Brian) Winingar of Pace, Florida; grandson, Josiah Davis, his greatest joy, granddaughter Hadley Winingar; and sister, Willie Mae Walters of Milton, Florida.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, at Elizabeth Chapel Church Cemetery, with Rev. Glyn Lowery, Jr. and Rev. Steve Zepp officiating. Lewis Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
The Family wishes to thank Emerald Coast Hospice, Victorian Manor Retirement Center in Pace, and the staff at Specialty Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pensacola, for the love and care given to "Big Papa" during the last several months.
Flower deliveries can be made to Elizabeth Chapel Church Cemetery, 8008 Chumuckla Highway Pace, Florida 32571 by 11a.m Monday November 21, 2022.
