Mr. Robert E. Faulkner, age 84, passed away on Friday, October 4th, 2024, at Jackson Madison County Hospital.
Robert was born on January 9th, 1940, in Madison County, TN, the son of Iverson and Pauline Huckaby Faulkner. Robert lived a remarkable life filled with dedication, love for his family, and unwavering commitment to his work.
He was the owner of "Faulkner’s Tree Service” for over 50 years. He was known for his exceptional work ethic.He was very generous to all his employees. He met their needs, no matter what they were. Scott Crossno worked for him for over 20 years. He and his wife were caretakers for Robert when he was no longer able to care for himself. Robert desperately wanted to stay at home. He got to spend the last 2 months at his house due to Scott and Sylvia’s help.
Outside of work, Robert enjoyed watching all sports on T.V. He kept up with political matters and received mail from many of the candidates. He was an outstanding football player for Northside High School, and received a scholarship to Mississippi State University. He was also on the Track and Field team. He won the state championship for the “shot put” contest.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iverson and Pauline Faulkner; his loving wife of over 40 years, Marianne Faulkner and his brother, James Faulkner.
He is survived by 4 sisters: Earline Faulkner Raines, Patsy Faulkner Gaw (David), Gale Faulkner Norris, Betty Faulkner Yarbro (Steve); sister in law, Janice Faulkner of Jackson; nephews, Chris and Craig Faulkner Jackson, Bart Smith of Huntingdon, TN, and Spencer Norris of Starkville, MS; nieces Debbie Raines Crenshaw (Carter), Angie Gaw Wilson (Lyndon) of Nashville and a host of other nieces and nephews of Nashville.
Robert was a devoted family man. He believed in God and spent time praying to his Heavenly Father. His devotion to his deceased wife was an inspiration to everyone.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2024 at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Crook Avenue Chapel with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery in Beech Bluff.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday.
