Obituary of Robert J. Feith

Unfortunately, if you are reading this, Robert passed on January 13, 2026, at the age of 89.

He was born September 25, 1936 in Bayonne, N. J. His parents were Walter and Helen Feith. In 1940 they moved to Staten Island, New York, living on Delafield Avenue. Shortly thereafter they bought a house at 637 Clove Road. Robert attended Blessed Sacrament Grammar school. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Religious medal, although at that time he had reservations. He was the only one in his class to attend Curtis High School. While in Curtis High School, he wrote some short stories that were published in the school newspaper. His senior year he entered Co-Op where he went to work one week and spent one week in school. He worked for Gimbals Dept., Store as a complaint clerk and then later as a statistician. In 1954 he left Gimbals and went to work for Chase Manhattan until 1956, at that time he became a Security Guard with the State of New York, National Guard, Martlings Lane, S.I., N.Y.

It was while in this position he met ,on a blind date, his future wife, Eleanor Rogers. Talk about a match made in Heaven, as soon as he met her, he knew she was the one. At first she did not care for him, but after a while, he kind of grew on her and they became engaged; married on October 25, 1958.

They had two children while living in Staten Island, Robert Jr. and Gary., Robert also left his Security Job and became an investigator with O'Hanlon Reports/National Inspection Bureau, NYC.

In 1963 they moved to Howell Twsp., New Jersey. Subsequently, they had two more children, Paul and Karen.

In 1979, Robert started his own business, Argonaut Services, a private detective agency catering to Corporations, Attorneys and Insurance Companies. He was also Vice-President of the Tri-State legal Photographers Assn, based out of New York City. After 30 years in business, he retired,

Robert is pre-deceased by his wife Eleanor, brother Carl, parents Helen and Walter and his son, Robert Jr. He was an avid photographer and liked to dabble in genealogy.

In lieu of a funeral, the family will be holding a celebration of life in the near future.
