It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert T. Ferguson, who left this world on October 17, 2024 at the age of 76. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone he encountered. His smile brightened up every room that he entered, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the most unforgettable memories. To have the privilege to know Robert, was to love him.
Born on December 23, 1947 in Kearny, NJ, Robert lived a life full of laughter, compassion, and heroism. He was a volunteer firefighter and Assistant Chief in Madison Park, NJ, always striving to make a difference in the lives of others. He was also a Sunoco truck mechanic, and enjoyed spending his time working on cars.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Diane Ferguson, to whom he was married for 55 years, his children, Diana Williams, Dawn Vitullo (Louis), Robert Ferguson, and Cheryl Chorzelewski (Andrew), his grandchildren, Samantha Vitullo, Mckayla Ford (Brian), Kyle Ferguson (Paige), Katelyn Ferguson, Skyla Vitullo, Kailey Vitullo, Gianna Cruzado, Charles Ferguson, Joshua Cruzado, William Ferguson, Riley Chorzelewski, Noah Chorzelewski, and Lucas Chorzelewski, and his great-grandchildren, Jack Ford, Timothy Ford, Grace Ferguson, and Kolson Vitullo. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ferguson, his mother, Loretta V. Lyons, and his sister, Donna Ferguson.
He had a profound love for camping with his family, watching the Eagles and Phillies games, going to casinos, and watching NASCAR races, which brought joy not only to his life but to all those around him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, October 21st from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Autism Speaks Organization, honoring his grandchildren diagnosed with Autism by visiting www.AutismSpeaks.org
Robert will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, as he truly was a gift to all who knew him.
