Robert Eugene Ferguson passed away on January 2, 2026, in Malvern, Arkansas, at the age of 80. Born on August 4, 1945, in Monticello, Arkansas, Robert lived a life marked by devotion to family, service, and faith.
Robert spent life working at Reynolds Cable and Reynolds Metals, finally retiring from Alcoa. A proud military veteran, he honorably served in the United States Army, earning several accolades including the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, and the National Defense Service Medal.
His devotion to family was evident in every aspect of his life. Robert cherished spending time with his loved ones, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved to take them fishing and camping Degrey Lake and Catherine. He would share "tall tales" while cooking for them and the stories are still being passed on in the family. He and Nancy loved practical jokes and "dad" jokes, filling their lives with laughter.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Gilroy (Simon Gilroy); sons, Robert Ferguson II (Alesha Ferguson) and Michael Ferguson (Callie Ferguson); grandchildren, Nathan Green (Shelby Green), Caitlin Green, Alex Gilroy, Nadya Jackson (Lane Jackson), Asher Ferguson, and Eleanor Ferguson; and sisters, Peggy Burke (Keith Burke) and Mae Woods (Sonny Woods). He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy Ferguson, his brother, Benjamin Ferguson and his sister Christine Kendall.
A devout man, Robert was deeply committed to his faith and often went out of his way to help his church and the community. His positive impact on his family, friends, and community will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Robert Eugene Ferguson will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on through the many lives he touched.
Robert's memorial service is Saturday January 10th at 2PM. The location is New Life Assembly of God (1120 Grand Ave Haskell).
