Robert E. Fickes, Jr., 68, of Shippensburg, PA, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at his home. He was born on April 23, 1957, in Chambersburg, PA, to the late Robert E., Sr. and Dorrine (Monn) Fickes.
Robert attended school in the Chambersburg Area School District and was employed as a machine operator at World Color for over 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, fishing, collecting coins, and spending time with his family and grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Fickes; sons, Corey Fickes and Michael Fickes, and Michael's wife, Angel; grandchildren, Caden, McKenna, Macy, Sterling, and Harper; brother, Joseph Fickes and his wife, Cheryl; sister, Donna VanWinkle and her husband, Tom; sister, Roberta “Robbie” Wenger; sister, Dawn Crider; sister, Cindy Kinsey and her husband, Brad; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his son, Robert “Bobby” Fickes, III; brother, Terry Monn; sister, Barbara Fickes; and infant sister, Pamela Fickes.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
