Robert L. Flatten

1935 - 2024

Robert L Flatten August 26, 1935 - November 15, 2024 Crawford resident, Robert L. Flatten peacefully passed at his residence with family by his side. He was 89 years of age.

Robert was born the son of Russell D. and Marcella (Wilkinson) Flatten in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from College View High School, class of 1953. Survived by one brother Russell D. Jr. four sisters, Clara, Beverly, Marian and Marcella. Preceded in death by parents and sister Helen.

Robert married Patricia A. McEvoy on May 1, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska. They celebrated over fifty-three years of love in Marriage. He is survived by sons, Lawrence W. and Loren R. Flatten and his wife Connie, two daughters, Theresa L. Hefner and Lorraine E. Higgs. Preceded in death by one son Robert L. Flatten II. A loving Grandfather of nine grandchildren, one deceased grandson and eleven great grandchildren.

Robert was honorably discharged from the Air National Guard in Lincoln, Nebraska in January of 1962 with the rank of Tech Sergeant. Employed by Continental Airlines in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Retired from Frontier Airlines in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Robert's philanthropic interests included Mesa County Little League, Eagles Lodge No. 595 Semipro Baseball, Introducing and supporting JUCO to Grand Junction, Colorado. He was active in the Grand Junction Lions Club with the mission of improving the lives of those in need. Robert's tenure in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks started in Grand Junction culminating as Exalted Ruler of Lodge #1807 in Hotchkiss, Colorado.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Taylor Funeral Services' Chapel, 682 1725 Road, Delta, Colorado, followed by interment at Mesa View Cemetery.

Celebration of Life at Camp Robber, 1515 Ogden Road, Montrose Colorado from Noon-2:00pm.
