Robert E. Folkers, affectionately known as Bob, was born on February 22, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas. He departed this earthly life on March 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy enriched by his caring heart and industrious spirit.
From a young age, Bob exhibited an extraordinary work ethic, beginning his journey at just 12 years old at his father's shop, Folker's Supply. His drive and commitment eventually led him to establish his own business, specializing in repairing small engines and mowing. This entrepreneurial spirit not only defined his career but also showcased his dedication to serving others.
Throughout his life, Bob was more than a businessman; he embodied a genuine kindness that touched everyone he met. His deep commitment to community service was exemplified through his active membership at Hope Christian Church. Later in life, he embraced a new chapter by becoming a Shriner at Midian Shrine, where his compassionate nature continued to shine brightly.
Bob's educational journey led him to East High School, where he laid the foundation for the resilient and thoughtful man he would become. Those who knew him often remark on his warmth and helpfulness—a testament to his character that will forever resonate with family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bob was a proud father, and his greatest achievement in life was nurturing his role as a dad. This pride was shared deeply with his beloved son, Tony Folkers, who will carry forward his values and love. He is also survived by his caring sister, Ellen Hawks, and brother-in-law, Tom Hawks, along with his brother Rich Folkers and sister-in-law Debbie Folkers, and Michael Rabenseifner, son. Each of them will cherish the many memories created alongside him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eloise and Ernest Folkers, who provided the grounding love that shaped his life. Their memory will continue to be celebrated in the hearts of all who knew Bob.
A memorial service honoring Bob's life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Pleasantview Baptist Church in Derby, beginning at 11:00 am. The service will provide an opportunity for loved ones to gather in remembrance, sharing stories that reflect the profound impact Bob had on countless lives.
