Robert Reed Foltz

Robert Reed Foltz, 73, of East Salem, passed away peacefully at 11:40 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born on September 15, 1950 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Lewis Marlin Foltz Sr. and Olive Martha (Fultz) Foltz.
On November 22, 1975, he married his surviving wife, Susan J. (Strawser) Foltz, with whom he was blessed to share over 48 years of marriage before his passing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michele Schroepfer and her husband Curt of McVeytown, Jennifer Kralik and her husband Stephen of Shermansdale, and Lewis Foltz and his wife Jennifer of Mifflin; six grandchildren, Bethany Schroepfer, Antonio Ortiz, Kaitlyn Schroepfer, Nathan Schroepfer, Stephen Paul Kralik V, and Landen Foltz; two great grandchildren, Aiden Brown and Oliver Walters; two brothers, Stephen L. Foltz and his wife Kathy of Spruce Hill and John M. Foltz and his wife Raylin of Mifflintown; one sister-in-law, Joyce Weiand of Thompsontown; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis M. Foltz, Jr.
Robert was a 1970 graduate of Juniata High School, Mifflintown and had worked at American Can in Lemoyne, Zimmies Dinner in Mifflintown, and then retired after thirty five years of service from Amsted Railways in Camp Hill where he was involved in Research and Development.
He was a member of a non-denominational church held in his home for many years.
Mr. Foltz was very mechanically minded, loving his vehicles, especially his 1964 Ford Fairlane Coupe. He also enjoyed preparing BBQ chicken for the family's 4th of July picnic at his brother's home. He especially loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville. Interment will follow at Goodwill Cemetery, McAlisterville.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
