Robert James Fortunato

Robert J. Fortunato, of Maple Shade, NJ passed away on August 16th, 2022 at the age of 66, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Robert "Bob" was born and raised in South Philadelphia to the late Michael and Catherine Fortunato. He raised his family in Cherry Hill, NJ, before his current residence in Maple Shade. For many years, Bob worked as a Flooring Contractor and had his own company, Fortunato Family Flooring. In his free time, he loved gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren, who were his biggest pride and joy. He never missed his grandchildren's sports games and had so much pride watching them play. He was an athlete most of his life and an avid Philly sports fan. Bob had a big personality and is extremely loved; he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Bob is predeceased by his brother, Anthony Fortunato (the late Carole). He is survived by his children, Rob Fortunato (Kendall), Tina Wunsch (Martin), and Anthony Fortunato (Jenise); his former wife Doria Fortunato; his siblings, Elizabeth Matarazzo (Lucky), Ralph Fortunato (Yvonne), and Helene Newman (Bob); his grandchildren, Martin Wunsch, Mylah Wunsch, Ronan Fortunato, and Elijah Rivers; his many loving nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Bella.
Relatives and friends are welcome to his visitation on Wednesday, August 24th from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, followed immediately by his memorial service. Both will be held at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. Interment will be private.
