Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home - TrooperRobert Harold Fox, age 90 of Trooper passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, at Abington Jefferson Hospital in Abington.
Born in Perkasie, PA Robert was the son of the late Harold Leroy Fox and Maude (Hitchins) Fox.
Robert is survived by his spouse Beverly Meyers Fox and his daughter April Fox, as well as his ex wife, April's mother Margaret Fox.
Robert graduated from Germantown High School in 1953. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged as Lance Corporal on November 25, 1961.
Robert was passionate about cars. He owned an XK120M Jaguar, an El Camino and lovingly rebuilt a 1966 911 Porsche. He participated in the 1953 Reading Hill Climb in his 1936 Ford V8.
Robert owned Robert Fox German Car Service in Ambler, Pa for over 50 years. He was well known for his work on Porsches and other exotic cars. He was proud of his work on a 1963 AC Bristol.
Prior to Robert's major back surgery in 2014, he enjoyed spending time in the Endless Mountains fishing, sailing and working on the cabins located on the 10 acre property he and his wife own. Robert also enjoyed boating on the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers, snowmobiling, car rallies and traveling. Robert was a great lover of animals, music, food and nature . . . particularly his pet cats. He was grateful of the support of his spouse during the most difficult years of his illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Meyers Fox residence (311 Clearfield Avenue, Trooper) on Sunday May 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please bring your stories, pictures and appetite. All friends and family are invited!
