Robert Edward "Eddie" Gaddy, 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Osborn. Officiating will be Rev. John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
Eddie was a native of Bastrop, LA and a resident of Shreveport, LA for 51 years. He was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church. Eddie was baptized in 1952. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Eddie was born in Springhill, LA and lived in Bastrop, LA and Pine Bluff, AR. He graduated from high school in 1959 and attended Louisiana Tech University. Eddie was a mechanical engineer by trade and worked for Poloron in Ruston, HICA, Beard Industries, Trinity Industries in Shreveport, and had the best retirement job, at Bass Pro Shops for the last 18 years.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Marion and Lexie Gaddy; brother, Charles Marion Gaddy; son, Robert Paul Gaddy; and granddaughter, Lexie Marie Godwin.
He is survived by his daughters. Lisa Kathleen Justice (Mark) of Cayuga, TX and Valerie Anne Gaddy of Benson, LA; five grandchildren, Christina Brooke Shepard (Shawn) of Ft. Hauchuca, AZ, Jon Michael McIntyre (Marina) of Hemphill, TX, Megan Eugenia Watson (Charles) of Plain Dealing, LA, Haley-Katherine Gaston (Hunter), of Converse, LA, and Josie Marie Carter of Converse, LA; eight great-grandchildren, Titus, Max, Oliver, Lincoln, Sara-Faye, Addison Rose, Blake and Waylon; and ex-wife Dolores B. Gaddy.
Pallbearers will be Michael McIntyre, Tommy Rascoe, Mark Justice, Hunter Gaston and Kolby Stewart.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Willis Knighton Pierremont.
