Robert Daniel Gary, 68, of South Boardman, passed away from complications of a stroke at Munson Medical Center on Monday, August 19th, 2024. Born on June 4th, 1956, in Traverse City, Michigan, to the late Francis (Frank) and Joan (Bieber) Gary.
Robert was a very intelligent man, with a great sense of humor and quick wit. He had a passion for schooling and a desire to learn. During his time proudly spent with the Marines, he was able to complete his GED. After serving his time with the Marines, Robert met his future wife, Terri Lynn Wade and they moved to North Carolina where he pursued his first college degree in Forestry from Southeastern Community College, which was a lifelong passion for him, always enjoying his time in nature. After moving back to Lansing, Robert decided to attend Lansing Community College to obtain an Associate degree in Computer Aided Draft & Design. This would turn into his career, and later lead him to GM where he worked for numerous years as a CAD Engineer, helping with the design process. While working for GM, Robert and Terri married on April 9th, 1994. They moved shortly after to the peace and quiet of Northern Michigan. This, however, didn't stop Robert from his schooling, he would complete his last degree in Medical Insurance Billing from Baker College when the couple had planned to start a small business. Robert loved his time up north, and will be remembered as a loving Husband, Brother, and friend.
Robert will be deeply missed by his wife; brothers Douglas (Becky) Gary, Richard Gary, and Darin (Becky) Gary; sisters Margery (Dave) Simpson and Kelly (David) Fullerton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert Gary Verla; twin sister Robin Gary and his favorite dog BG. A graveside service will be held on September 18th, 2024, beginning at 2:00 PM at Boardman Township Cemetery, with burial to follow.
