William Donald Gurley, 70, of South Boardman, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born on December 12, 1954, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to the late Roy and Margaret (Langston) Gurley. On July 16, 1994, Bill married Darla Angell Gurley. He embraced his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather with open arms and a full heart. To Bill, there were no "stepchildren"-only family. Bill was a hardworking and caring man, known for his generous spirit and the deep love he had for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a passion for sunshine and a zest for life that was evident in all he did. A natural storyteller, Bill loved to make people laugh and found joy in dancing, riding Harleys with friends and family, playing dominoes, and taking road trips. He was proudly known as "Wild Bill Gurley" by everyone in the patch. A true family man, Bill stood firmly for what he believed in and never hesitated to defend those he loved. He often spoke fondly of his Oklahoma roots and would return often. His beloved dogs, Annie and Shadow, were his loyal companions and held a special place in his heart. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Darla; children: William Jr. (Misty) Gurley, Angel Tracey and Tanya (Robert) Nichols; grandchildren: Kirey (Savannah) Marsh, Mekhi Marsh, Alex Chambers, Destiny Chambers, Angeline Chambers and James Gurley; great-grandchildren: Waylon Marsh, Kolten Marsh, Willow Chambers, Khai Gurley and Malcolm Gurley; brothers David Gurley and Mike (Paula) Gurley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Mark Gurley, grandson William Cross Gurley and several Dowell comrades. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Kalkaska Moose Lodge on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
