Robert Vernon Geis, lovingly known as Vernon, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, in Clay County, Texas, at the age of 62.

Robert was born on January 13, 1963, to Robert Vernon Geis and Doris Gameson Geis in Archer City, Texas. A proud lifelong resident of Archer County, he graduated from Archer City High School with the Class of 1981, where he earned All-State honors in basketball and was a beloved teammate and friend.

He worked many years in the oilfield industry for Bridwell Oil Company before establishing his own business, Geis Operating. As a state-licensed water operator for over 30 years, Robert served his community through his work with Archer County MUD 1, the City of Scotland, and the Friberg-Cooper Water Supply.  He also served on the Archer City ISD School Board for eight years.

Robert married Deborah Koch on December 31, 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Robert is survived by his mother, Doris Fay Geis of Archer City; his wife of seven years, Deborah Koch of Rockwall; and his five children, Kyler Koch (Brandie Wallace), Jessica Geis, Kamrey Harden, Katie Ramsey (Cody Ramsey), and Keyton Koch (Torie Roland); his sisters, Diane Porter (Eddie Porter) and Laura Nite. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Chevy Wallace, Christopher Wallace, Wyatt Harden, and AJ Harden, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new grandson in March.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert.

Robert will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and his deep love for family and friends.
