Robert E Geistweite, 85, passed away March 1, 2025 after an extended illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Lester and Lillian (McConnell) Geistweite, he grew up in Stow, graduated from Stow High School and later resided in both Akron and Cuyahoga Falls. Bob owned Liberty Glass & Mirror for 31 years and during that time he was given the nickname "Grumpy" from his vendors, the complete opposite of his actual personality. He enjoyed playing the trumpet, singing, golfing, carpentry, his pets and spending time with his family. His proudest moments in life were directing choirs with his wife Mary at his side at Chapel of Prayer and Harmony Baptist.
Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Mary; children, Ginger Geistweite-York, Scott Geistweite; grandchildren, Tyler, Noah, Abby; sisters, Fay Johnson, Betty (Bill) Arnold; close friends, Fred and Darlene Thomason, Joe and Tonya Grether.
Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Northampton Cemetery.
