Randy Bruce Hanlin, age 68 of Ravenna, joined his daughter Ashley in Heaven on December 3, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1957 to the late Grosvenor G. Hanlin Sr. and Evelyn M. {Arnold} Hanlin.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Ashley Hanlin in 2022.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Janell; daughter Jennie (Joe Bounce) Hanlin; grandchildren Timothy, Brooklyn and Jocelyn; siblings Lynda Hanlin-Goodrich, Bud (Debbie) Hanlin, Alan (Kathy) Hanlin, Billie (Jerry) White; many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Randy loved the outdoors, especially boating and fishing, making memories with his girls, Ashley and Jennie.
Randy's family finds comfort in knowing that they will see him again. He had a way of lighting up every room he entered, and had everyone smiling and laughing with his quick-witted jokes, goofy impressions and perfectly-timed punch lines. Randy had a contagious smile, crinkling his eyes at the corners, and the warmth of it could brighten even the darkest day.
Randy wasn't just a loving husband, devoted dad and a legend to his nieces and nephews- he was also a friend, a mentor, and the heart of so many family gatherings. Family events will never be the same without his laughter filling the house.
While Randy may no longer be here in person, his memory will live on in every shared memory, funny story and through the lives of his grandchildren. We love you so much. Thank you for the endless memories, the unconditional love, and for showing us all how to live life with a smile and a huge sense of humor. Give Ashley, Grandma and Grandpa a hug from us all, and Rest in Peace.
Per Randy's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be planned for early 2026. To leave a special memory for Randy's family, please visit the guest book below.
