Bob Kerrigan, 80, of Wimberley, Texas, passed away on January 29, 2024. He was born on April 18, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to George and Doris Kerrigan. Bob, also known as Robert George Hopper Kerrigan, was a kind and compassionate man who loved his family, friends, and community.
Bob served in the Marine Corps, serving 4 years at Camp Pendleton. Bob's life path brought him to Austin, Texas where he had a successful career with LCRA before moving to PEC where he would eventually retire.
In addition to his dedication to his work, Bob had a passion for tennis. In 2003, he and his late wife, Diana, founded the Wimberley Community Tennis Association (WCTA). Their efforts were instrumental in building a tennis community for comradery, fellowship, and exercise. Bob and Diana also played a crucial role in raising funds for the installation of lights at the Wimberley High School tennis courts. Later in life, Bob enjoyed fishing trips to Bandera with his significant other, Sharon and spending time with her family. Bob never met a dog he didn't love and was well known in the neighborhood for giving all the dogs he came across treats. If you ever needed advice on how to fix something, Bob was your guy!
Bob will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his son Michael Kerrigan and wife Kim, grandchildren Emma and Ethan Kerrigan, stepdaughter Dena Saunders and husband Keith, stepson Troy Gothard and wife Renee, brother John Kerrigan, and Sharon Smith, his loving significant other. He was preceded in death by his wife Diana, father George, and mother Doris.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held in Wimberley in the coming weeks, with details pending.
Please join us in remembering and honoring Bob Kerrigan, a man who touched the lives of many through his kindness, dedication, and love for his community.
