Robert Georgia Obituary
Born on March 9, 1938, in the inspiring scenery of Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley and Carolyne (Keller) Georgia.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 68 years, Caroline Georgia, who he married on August 17, 1957. Together they raised a family that included their children, Robert L. Georgia Jr., Robin Walker (Kirk), Thomas R. Georgia (Kathleen), and their daughter-in-law Michele Georgia; as well as his 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins all survive.
In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his son, Martin F. Georgia.
His professional life at Tryon as a child care supervisor in Johnstown reflected his innate ability to guide and support others, resulting in his gaining respect from his staff and incarcerated youth. Robert was a long-time member of the Johnstown Moose and Eagles Clubs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and two of his greatest pleasures were golf and hunting. All who knew him realized his playful banter was to be taken with a grain of salt.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life which will be held at Hales Mills Country Club, 146 Steele Rd., Johnstown, NY 12095, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
Memorial donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Norwich New York YMCA, 68 N. Broad Street, Norwich, NY, 13815.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
