It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Mark Gerstner, who left this world peacefully from natural causes on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the age of 72. In honor of his memory, a funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Born on April 25, 1953, in Auburn, Nebraska, to Al and Ginny (Crowdes) Gerstner, Mark was later raised in Great Bend, Kansas, where he graduated high school. Mark spent his early years working alongside his father, Al, in agriculture supply before transitioning into the world of carpet installation-a trade that allowed him to exhibit his craftsmanship and resourcefulness.
A passionate sports fan, Mark had an enduring love for the Kansas City Chiefs, often cheering them on during the football season. He found joy in life's simple pleasures: playing darts with friends, fishing at his favorite spots, and hitting the golf course, regardless of his skills. Most importantly, Mark treasured family gatherings, especially during the holidays, when everyone would come together to play cards, savor delicious meals, and celebrate the bonds that held them close.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Al Gerstner; his brother, David Gerstner; and his sister, Diana Deal. He is survived by his mother, Ginny Gerstner; his brothers, Dennis and Joe Gerstner; and many relatives and friends.
