Robert K. Gingher, age 86, died peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the Glen at Willow Valley Communities, Willow Street, PA. He was the husband of Johanna Stalder Gingher for 59 years.

He was born in Lock Haven, PA to the late Kenneth and Catherine Bower Gingher. Surviving beside his wife are two children: Angela wife of Brandon Stetser of Lancaster and Jed married to Erin Lowe Gingher of Baltimore. He has four grandchildren: Alex, Emma and Owen Stetser and Elena Gingher.

Bob graduated from Lock Haven High School and Lock Haven College. He received his MS at West Verginia University and his Principal’s Certificate from Temple University. He began his career in 1963 at Pequea Valley High School as a math and driver ed. teacher. He taught for 22 years and one year as principal, retiring in 1996. In 1993 he was named Assistant Principal of the Year for the state of Pennsylvania.

He belonged to Leacock Presbyterian Church for forty-two years and served several years as an elder. He was currently a member of Highland Presbyterian Church.

For thirty years he served as an Auditor for Paradise Township. He was President of the Pequea Valley Library Board. He also served on the Lancaster County Library System Board and received their Trustee Recognition Award in 2008.

He was a member of Meadia Heights Golf Club for over twenty-five years, Christiana Lodge #417 F. & A. M., and the Lancaster Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.

In his early years Bob worked summers at the Strasburg Railroad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He belonged to the Paradise Turtle Club and the Paradise Sportsman’s Association.

After their retirements Bob and Johanna traveled to forty-eight states and several countries. He was always looking forward to the annual family vacation in Bethany Beach, DE.

Bob enjoyed cooking and was known for his pickles. He also enjoyed the wood shop at the Lakes at Willow Valley.

The family thanks the LGH ICU staff and the nurses at The Glen, as well as the Caring Hospice staff, for their care and concern.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 am, followed by the 11 am service conducted by Rev. Ken Osborne.
