Suzanne Lea Gingher

On April 17, 2025, Suzanne Lea Gingher (née Matthews) passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and love.
Suzanne was the devoted wife of Dudley Gingher of Bridgeville, DE. She was the cherished daughter of the late Alfred Matthews and Georgie "Evelyn" Matthews (née King), and beloved sister of Paul Matthews and his wife Barbara of Baltimore, MD and the late Jean Matthews Weidinger. Known as "Aunt Suzie," she was adored by her nieces and nephews: Karen Woolsey (Allen), John Weidinger IV (Sue), Amy Horton (James), James Matthews (Kristin), and Christine Matthews. She was a treasured great-aunt to Tyler Woolsey (Amy), Kaitlyn Woolsey, Alexandra Weidinger, John Weidinger V, Matthew Horton, Lily Matthews, and Ella Matthews, and a proud great-great aunt to Jacob Woolsey.
A graduate of Towson High School and Anne Arundel Community College, Suzanne enjoyed a fulfilling career that spanned over 30 years with Digital Inc. and Champion Realty in Easton, MD. Above all, Suzanne was a devoted caregiver and a woman of exceptional talent and compassion.
Suzanne found great joy in sewing, embroidery, and crafting - creating beautiful handmade items with care and creativity. She loved baking, trying new recipes, and sharing sweet treats with loved ones. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on the back porch with Dudley, watching birds and sharing laughter. Her vibrant personality, quick wit, and ever-present smile brought joy to everyone who knew her.
Suzanne will be deeply missed by her many friends in the Heritage Shores community and throughout Bridgeville. Her family will hold her close in their hearts, treasuring the memories and the love she gave so freely.
