Robert "Eddie" Goodrum

ROBERT GOODRUM Robert "Eddie" Goodrum passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born the son of Harold and Floe (Southwick) Goodrum on February 17, 1936, in Ventura, California. At 6 months old, he returned with his parents and family to Wellington, KS. Eddie decided to stay at Tribune, Kansas, and attend high school there, helping his dad with the custom cutting and farming business. He graduated from Greeley County High School in May 1955. He entered the army and was stationed in Japan (1956-1958) and was on inactive reserve from 1959 to 1962. Eddie received an honorable discharge in January 1962. In June of 1959, Eddie married Ruth Brunswig of Tribune, Kansas, where they raised four children, Dwayne, Sandra, Rhonda, and Randy. He farmed and raised cattle and hogs on a farm north of Tribune. He later moved to Garden City, Kansas, and retired from Pueblo Chemical in 2002. Eddie is survived by his children: Dwayne Goodrum, Leoti, Kansas; Sandra Hall and her children, Cristopher, Ashley, and Michael, Winfield, Kansas; Rhonda Goodrum, Winfield, Kansas; and Randy Goodrum, Waukomis, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Wanda Goodrum of Fountain Valley, California; along with numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Floe Goodrum; his sister, Joyce Troutman; his brothers Jim and Neel Goodrum; and Ruth (Brunswig) Goodrum. Dad had many friends and family in the Wellington, Tribune, and Garden City area who adored him and had great respect for him. Thank you all so much. He was a great father, and we will miss him greatly. A graveside service will be held at Osborn Township Cemetery on the south edge of Mayfield, Kansas, near Wellington, Kansas, at a future date.
