Robert Gosser Obituary

Robert Eugene Gosser, 81, formerly of Lower Burrell, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in Pittsburgh on June 26, 1944, to the late Paul H. and Margaret Carnahan Gosser and had lived in Lower Burrell for 52 years until moving to Gibsonia in 2023. Mr. Gosser worked in computer operations for Mellon Bank for 43 years until retiring in 2006. He attended the former Church of God in Lower Burrell (now The River 15068), where he served as an usher and several terms on the Board of Trustees. He served on several reunion committees for the Vandergrift class of 1962 and was part of the Jaycees organization. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and family vacations and loved being with his children and grandchildren. He was a faithful provider and loving husband and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gerri Dreger Gosser; children, Stephen (Courtney) Gosser of McCandless and Cynthia (Steven) Sarrick of Gibsonia; grandchildren, Ryan, Connor, Brianne, and Alina; sister, Judy (David) Walter of Kerrville, TX; brother-in-law, Dale (Gina) Dreger of Anderson, IN; along with several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at The River 15068 Church, 273 Chester Drive, Lower Burrell, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon, Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, by Rev. Dean Ward, followed by military honors by the Vandergrift Veteran's Honor Guard. Burial will be private in Evergreen Cemetery, Gilpin Township.
