Robert "Bob" Lloyd Gray passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida, at the age of 98. Born on August 7, 1926, in Lakewood, New Jersey, Bob lived a long, full life rooted in faith, service, and love for his family and community. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Gray, who passed away on May 13, 2009. Together, Bob and Betty raised five children-Susan Geraldine Gray (who preceded him in death on December 22, 2022), Robert John Gray, Judith Diane Shields, Beth Gray Walker, and Nancy Gray (Sonny) Riggs. He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A veteran of the United States Navy, Bob served honorably as a ham radio operator. He carried his love for his country and his quiet but steadfast faith throughout his life, finding purpose in service to others. Bob lived with a servant's heart, never seeking recognition but always giving his time, care, and strength to those around him. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 1988 spending his remaining years enjoying his family and friends. To know Bob was to feel cared for. His life was a living example of humility, grace, and unwavering love. Whether helping a neighbor, encouraging a grandchild, or tending to his family's needs, Bob's gentle strength left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His legacy is one of deep kindness and quiet sacrifice. He will be profoundly missed. Those who knew him, loved him and in remembering him, they carry forward his spirit of compassion, devotion, and selfless love. A private family service will be held to honor Bob's life in Stuart Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that acts of service be done in his memory, just as he would have done.
