Robert Henry Green

Robert Henry Green, (AKA Hutch-guy), 94, of Lapeer, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on November 4.
Robert Green was born in Detroit to Joseph and Esther Green on October 8, 1931. He was married to Kathleen for over 60 years. He worked as a newspaper pressman for the Detroit News (Detroit Free Press) for over 30 years. He worked very hard but still found time for his family. He worked out 3 day a week until he was in his 90's.
Robert was a dedicated, loving, and caring father to his three girls (he wanted boys). He taught them to work on cars, how to fish, and use his tools. He protected and entertained his wife, Kathy. She was his everything and he knew that she was always right.
His dry sense of humor provided laughter for everyone in the family. He was a talented woodworker and made most of the furniture in his home. He loved animals. His parrot would call his name when he entered the room! Prior to retiring, he owned a horse farm and bred and raised dogs. Robert always wanted a dog in his life.
Robert is preceded in death by his daughter Susan Wilhelm, parents Joseph and Esther Green, his sister Loris Caplan, and two brothers Joseph and Thomas Green.
Robert is survived by his wife Kathleen Green, daughters Patricia Green (Robert), Robin Binder, and Tamara Smedstad (Todd), grandchildren Joshua Johnson, Hannah Smedstad, Haley (Hals) Smedstad, Bradley Binder (Ariel), and his great grandchildren Chase, Nicole, and Jimmy Binder.
Memorials may be given to local animal rescues. The family od Robert wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Heartland Hospice for providing care and support during his last days. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer.
