Robert Lynn Griffith
January 27, 1937 – November 14, 2025
With loving hearts and profound gratitude for his life, we announce the passing of Robert Lynn Griffith, who departed this earthly life on November 14, 2025, in Manassas, Virginia. Robert was born on January 27, 1937, in Prince William County, Virginia, the fourth of nine children born to the late Fred and Mary Griffith.
Robert was educated in the Prince William County School System. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Catharpin, Virginia. A faithful servant, he was an active member of the Usher Ministry, where he took great joy in escorting members and visitors with warmth and kindness.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving numerous recognitions for his dedication. In the late 1950s, he and his brothers owned and operated a concrete business, reflecting Robert's strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He later continued his career with the Fairfax County Public School System, where he worked diligently until his retirement.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Robert cherished time spent with family. He found joy in simple pleasures-playing his favorite card game, Spades, watching horse races, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and relaxing on the water with a fishing rod in hand.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughters, Vanessa Harris (Eddie) and Judy Brown (Keith); his brothers Lawrence (Dottie) and Tommy (Grace) Griffith; and two stepchildren, Veronica Green and Emmanuel Tibbs. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Griffith, and Valarie Tibbs-Griffith; his parents, Fred and Mary Griffith; and his siblings Curtis, Billy, Bessie, George, Gilly, and Deloris. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Robert's famous saying was, "Don't say goodbye-say see you later." Today, we honorthose words, knowing that his love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will forever remain with us.
May he rest in eternal peace.
