Robert Milton Grims, known affectionately to friends and family as Rob, embarked on his final adventure on December 19, 2025, leaving behind a trail of laughter, sports trivia, and an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. Born in Rochester, New York, on August 24, 1969, Rob quickly discovered his twin passions in life: making people chuckle and anything involving a ball, a score, and a cheer for the Bills.

A proud graduate with a Master of Public Policy from George Washington University, Rob also held a Bachelor of Science with dual majors in Economics and Spanish from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. As a kicker for the university's football team, he not only showed his athletic prowess but also set the stage for a lifetime love affair with all things sports.

Professionally, Rob dedicated himself to protecting and serving the community as a member of the Montgomery County Police from 1993 to 2023. His colleagues remember him as the officer who could defuse any situation with a well-timed joke, often leaving even the most hardened criminals with a reluctant grin. As an adjunct professor at George Mason University, he shared his knowledge with a side of humor, ensuring that his lessons were as memorable as they were informative. Whether working in private security or consulting with Reset 180, Rob tackled every challenge with a smile and a strategy.

Away from the badge, Rob was a man of faith, a Christian who walked the talk by spreading joy and embodying the spirit of fellowship. He was the life of every gathering, with a knack for storytelling that could rival any stand-up comedian. Rob's family was his pride and joy, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his father, Laurence Robert Grims, his mother, Suzanne Marie Grims, and his sister, Jennifer Suzanne Grims. His role as a father to Joshua and Zoey Grims was performed with the same enthusiasm he showed on the sidelines of any game, cheering them on in life with vigor and unwavering support. Rob adored his precious granddaughter Aliyah Grims, and he especially relished seeing Joshua be a doting father to Aliyah. Rob loved going on runs and walks with his furry companion Buster.

Rob's journey through life also included chapters with his former wife, Yung Hae Kim, and a loving partnership with his fiancée, Hien "Susan" Dang. He embraced Minh Nguyen and Kevin Nguyen as his own, filling their lives with laughter and endless support. Together, they blended their families with the same finesse Rob applied to a game-winning play.

Those who knew Rob understood that his love for sports was just a metaphor for his approach to life-play hard, laugh often, and always be there for your team. He was a coach not just in sports, but in life, guiding many with his wisdom cloaked in humor. Rob was adventurous, always ready to dive into new experiences or explore unfamiliar places with the curiosity of a child and the excitement of a sports commentator during a championship game.

Rob was the kind of guy who could find humor in any situation, the kind of friend who was as reliable as a referee's whistle. He was funny, friendly, and adventurous-a trifecta of qualities that made him the unbeatable champion in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of sharing his journey.

As we bid farewell to Rob, let's honor his memory by embracing life with the same zest he did-by laughing a little louder, playing a little harder, and loving a little deeper. Rob may have left the field, but his spirit will continue to inspire chuckles and cheers for generations to come. Go Bills, and go Rob, forever a legend in our lives.
