Robert S. "Bob" Groff, 92, of Quarryville and formerly of New Danville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Louella E. (Sangrey) Groff, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.
Born in New Danville, he was the son of the late Ira C. and Lillian (Stauffer) Groff.
Early in life, Bob was employed by Mellinger Manufacturing. He then went on to find employment with High Steel as a layout man, retiring with over 30 years of service.
Active in serving his community, Bob was a past member of New Danville Fire Company, serving as chief from 1975 - 1981. He enjoyed owning and driving his Ford Model A Tudor and being a part of the Red Rose Antique Auto Club. Bob was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, rarely missing a game. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting Winross and Hess Trucks, antiques, especially milk bottles, and most recently he enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles. Bob was a member of Grace Community Church of Willow Street.
He is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Deb) Groff, of Lancaster, Bryan Groff, of Allentown, and Renee (Jim) Breneman, of Mountville, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Harold (Pat) Groff, of Hershey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Ira, and Richard Groff.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 29, at Grace Community Church of Willow Street, 212 Peach Bottom Road, Willow Street, PA 17584. Private interment will take place in New Danville Mennonite Cemetery.
