David H. Unruh Sr.

David H. Unruh, Sr., 83, of Holtwood, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Peter and Adeline (Lehman) Unruh. He was the loving husband of Sandra Jean (Gaul) Unruh for 64 years.

Dave drove truck for Thomas Trucking and Burkholder Paving for many years. He was also the manager of Pequea Creek Campground for 18 years. In retirement, Dave enjoyed groundskeeping and maintenance at Muddy Run Park. He was an avid deer, goose, and small game hunter. Dave was also a member of Wesley Church in Quarryville.

In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by his children: David Jr., husband of Lauri Unruh, Patty, wife of Mike Barnett, and Pam, wife of Brian Wilkin; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Hospice and Community Care, especially Sue Garrett for the love and compassion they showed to Dave during his illness.

A Funeral Service will take place at Wesley Church, 1104 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville, PA on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will be held at the church on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and also from 10-11:00 a.m. on Monday.

Traditional interment will be private in the Bethesda United Methodist Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
