Robert A. Gulliver Sr.

Robert A. Gulliver, Sr., a proud US Marine Corp Veteran, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Providence with his family by his side. He was 82 years of age. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Dolores H. (Dubois) Gulliver to whom he shared over 53 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2020. Born in Providence, he was the oldest of three children born to the late Herbert J. and Lillian (Boudreau) Gulliver.

A true family man, Robert took great pride in providing for his family. He was a longtime employee of the Jury Commissioner's Office for the State of RI and for a period of time simultaneously worked for AAA Northeast. He was a constant presence at his grandchildren's sporting events, always cheering from the sidelines. Robert was a father figure to many of the neighborhood kids who returned to be by his side in his final days.

He enjoyed golfing and held a Saturday tee time at Swansea Country Club for a number of years, cheering on the NY Giants and taking his daily walk. After Dolores passed, he began visiting the Hope Center in Cranston three times a week where he forged strong friendships with the employees and other attendees alike. He will be missed by all those who had the privilege to know and love him.

He was the devoted father of Robert A. Gulliver, Jr. (wife, Erin) and Barbara Pacheco (husband, Louis) and the cherished 'Poppie' of Morgan and Chloe Pacheco and Aydan Mae and Jake Gulliver. Robert was the older brother of Maureen Gulliver and the late Raymond Gulliver.

His funeral will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, at 9am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Paul Church, 30 Warwick Ave., Cranston. He will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors in the RI Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Hope Center, 25 Brayton Ave., Cranston, RI 02920 are greatly appreciated.
