WEST SAND LAKE - Robert "Bob" P. Guynup, 52, of West Sand Lake, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at St. Margaret's Center. Born in Albany N.Y., Bob's life was filled with family, love and laughter.
Bob spent most of his career as a tow truck driver. His last decade was proudly spent at Dawson's Towing. He looked forward to the friendly interactions with customers, and the technical challenges of getting the big trucks out of a bind. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and fun-loving spirit. He was a huge NASCAR fan, and was crazy about getting baseball autographs. He always looked forward to his next ocean vacation. In his down time he enjoyed fishing with his children, and finding new trails on the four-wheeler. Whether enjoying the fried wontons at his favorite Chinese food restaurant or exploring someplace new, friends and family always knew that going out with Bob would be an experience.
Bob will be remembered and missed by his parents, Robert and Darlene Guynup; his wife of 23 years, Jodie Jackson-Guynup; daughters, Victoria Guynup and Jessika (Christopher) Minarich; son, Nathan Guynup; grandchildren, Elaena and Emma Minarich; brother, Jason Guynup; and a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a service at 12 p.m., at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
