Robert Hancock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Sacred Choice - Houston on Mar. 25, 2024.
Robert, or "Bo" to his many friends, was born in Houston, Texas and lived his full 17 years in Seabrook and Houston. Robert finished high school, having attended St. Thomas Episcopal and Bellaire High School. He was a camper at Camp La Junta for nine summers as well as Concordia Japanese Language Camp. He was enrolled at Houston Community College and hoped to attend Savannah College of Art and Design and pursue a career in game design.
Robert was a dreamer, a young man with high hopes, a big imagination, and a gentle way with those around him. He always saw the best in his friends and family, looking for peace and harmony, even when times were tough. A counselor to many of his peers, he was known for good advice and a giving spirit.
Robert's fire was bright but all too brief. He found courage in stories, immersing himself in adventure and new experiences. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his kindness towards all, and for everything he taught his family and friends about love and acceptance. His passion for music, classic games, and cosplay will long leave an echo in our hearts and minds.
Robert is survived by his parents (Brad and India), his siblings (Adair, Bradley, and Eliza), grandparents (Col. Robert and Prissy DaCamara Hancock; Barbara Christian Chumney), Uncles (Bob Hancock, Jr.; Chris Chumney), Aunts (Dolly Hancock; Jennifer Hancock; Amy Chumney), cousins (Trey and Katelyn Hancock; Logan, Cade, and India Chumney), countless friends and extended family, especially Glen and Mallory Fullerton, as well as his cat ("Stuffed Cheesy Crust").

I was a Camp La Junta counselor for Robert. We bonded over the fact that we were some of the more nerdy individuals that went to that camp. I remember talking to him about his favorite games and manga. His favorite activity was mine, leisure sports, where he was free to express himself without any fear of judgment. Robert had a soft spot in my heart and my only regret is that I did not maintain contact after I left Camp La Junta for college ventures.
Rest in peace, Robert.

Love,
John Bell

Elementary School, where we played and laughed together. We were the Legendary Trio, from Pokémon. I was heartbroken to hear the news at school that Robert had passed away. He will always be in my heart as a dear friend.
