Robert Harris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pennington Funeral Home - San Marcos on Jan. 23, 2026.
Robert Hunter Harris passed peacefully on January 12th, 2026 in his hometown of San Marcos, Texas. He was born on September 22nd, 1962 to Charles Archer Harris and Llewellyn Williams Harris, who preceded him in death. Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend to everyone.

He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Barbara Harris. Their love story started when they were young and reuniting later in life made it clear that they were soulmates. Their life together returned them to their younger selves, full of laughter and joy.

He is also survived by his stepmother, Mary Harris and his brother, Wendell Price (Hunter Price and Fallon Reed). Through marriage, he became a father figure to Bobby Amick (Lauren Amick) and Heather Acosta (Frankie Acosta). He was also the best grandpa to Hannah and Hudson Amick.

A dedicated employee of the Texas State Legislative Council for over 35 years, Robert was not only known for his commitment to his job but also for the genuine friendships he built throughout his career.

Friends describe Robert "Berto" as a gentle giant with a mischievous side. He was the kind who could talk you into anything. He loved to play devil's advocate and in the same breath, back your play. He was always up for adventure-willingly and lovingly sponsoring meals, trips, and events for loved ones. He was effortlessly charismatic and knew how to make everyone feel special whether he knew you for 5 minutes or 50 years. Robert was a gift from God to the world and he will be sorely missed.

A Celebration of Robert's life will be held on February 28th, 2026 at 2 pm at Lakeside Pavilion in Marble Falls, TX. Family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share stories of the love and laughter he brought into their lives. Please let Robert's family know if you plan to attend.
