Robert Gene Harshbarger

Robert (Bob, Pappy) Harshbarger, 80, passed away October 14, 2023. Bob was born March 5, 1943 to John Leroy Harshbarger and Alda Frances Stiffler Harshbarger. After graduating from High School, Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army and served two years active duty. After discharge from active duty, he went to work for Bell of PA and attended college. He spent 35 years in the communication industry. Bob married the love of his life Mary Jane Glass in 1963. They were married for 45 years and raised two sons, Shawn and Steven Harshbarger.

Bob always said the Good Lord blessed him all his life. He has never been hungry or without a home. Bob was blessed with many grandchildren. Nicole, Michael, Rachel, Joshua, Holly, Syana, Jenessa, Julia, Ryan, Tagen, Halle, Kelsey, Nick and Christian. Not all were his blood but all were loved by him just the same and all called him Pappy. During his life he was a Boy Scout, Cub Scout Master, Sunday School Teacher, Weblos Leader, Baseball Coach, PTA President, a Mason, Skeet Shooter, Tennis Player, Golfer, Church Member, Camper, Boater, Hunter, and Fisherman. He attended Bible Study Groups and Motorcycle Clubs. He lived in four different states and made many friends. Bob was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Jane Harshbarger, parents John and Frances Harshbarger, brother Bill Harshbarger and son Shawn Harshbarger.
