Robert B. "Bob" Heisel

A resident of Churchill, at age 84, Bob passed away on June 19, 2024 while vacationing in New Jersey.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, Patricia (Berkavich) Heisel. Bob and Pat were married for 57 years, and together they raised their beloved son, Steven (Katy) Heisel of Monroeville. Bob's joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandson, George Heisel, whom he adored.
He was the brother of Joann (late Jay) Kaczorowski of AZ and the late Paul (surviving spouse, Lee) Heisel, Jr. Bob is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Bob's life will be remembered by his kindness to others, his generous spirit, his hard working nature, and his unconditional love for his family.
Bob's academic journey led him to the University of Pittsburgh, where he laid the foundation for a successful career in sales and marketing within the commercial paper and printing industry. His last position was with Boise Cascade, from which he eventually retired.
A patriot at heart, Bob served his country with honor as a U.S. Navy veteran and later retired from the Air Force Reserves. He was proud to support veterans as a member of the Plum American Legion. His dedication to his nation may have been matched only by his passion for flying model airplanes, a hobby that he pursued with enthusiasm as a member of the Murrysville Area Sailplane Society.
Bob was also deeply rooted in his faith and community, as evidenced by his active participation in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Croatian Church Choir.
He also took great pride in maintaining his yard, his shrubbery and all of the landscaping of his home.
All are welcome on Friday from 2-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 and where the Plum American Legion will carry out their memorial service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Bernadette Church (Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish) in Monroeville on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Tom Dansak presiding.
Bob will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
