Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home on Oct. 29, 2025.
David Wade "Bubba" Heisel, known affectionately as David to his loved ones, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 50 in Lexington, KY. Born on September 28, 1975, in
Paris, KY, he was the beloved son of Eva Dawn McCaulley Heisel and the late Thomas Jefferson Heisel, Jr. David's kind spirit and gentle humor will be missed by all who loved and truly knew him.
He graduated from Bourbon County High School in 1994 and worked in his career as a security guard. David was a life-time loving member of the Shawhan Baptist Church and was greatly loved by the folks of his home church. His personal passions were simple yet profound. He relished moments spent in the tranquility of nature with a fishing pole in hand, or out on a deer stand. At home he enjoyed video gaming challenges.
Above all, David cherished family time-a devotion most palpable, especially in the presence of his dear son, George Wade Thomas Heisel, whom he loved with all his heart. His loving fiancée, Sherri Wells, always by his side; his dear mother and the extended family that meant the world to him, including his grandparents, George and Carolyn McCaulley, Ruth Glenadine Meadows; aunts Carolyn Burnette, Alice Gregory, Regina Mann, and Linda Angle; uncles Paul Mann, Gordon (Paula) Watkins, and Charlie Heisel; and cousins Michelle Sexton, Chassey Cobb, and Donald Angle. Every member of his family knows in their heart their importance to David and in his life. The love for David will always be cherished and even flow through to his son, George, for all who are privileged to be a part of his loving son's life.
Predeceased by his grandparents Thomas Jefferson Heisel, Sr. and Jewel Marie Heisel; grandfather Dude Faulkner and grandmother Ruth Pitts; father Thomas Jefferson Heisel, Jr., and his uncle Ronald Angle.
David's quiet nature and accepting love will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved this special treasure of God; proving again to us that God's wisdom is above ours, and He often hides precious jewels in unsuspecting packages of every kind. Fortunate is the soul who sees the treasure of God's love inside. There is nothing that can take the place of love.
David's life was a testament to the promises of God, that no matter what happened in life, his heart's devotion to Jesus remained steady, because David knew, and he knows now, that God is faithful and saves everyone who trusts in His Son Jesus. (Romans 10:13) David will be dearly missed and held in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know and love him. As we bid him farewell, until we meet on that heavenly shore, we are comforted by the thought that he is now among the angels, sharing his hearty laugh with all who've gone before him, sharing in the joy of the Lord. Very soon we will all meet the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's, and our prayer and hope is that all who read these words from David's life will join us by calling upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, and join David in singing praises to our God. for Jesus Saves!
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 PM Saturday November 1, 2025, at the Shawhan Baptist Church, 455 Mt. Carmel Rd.,
Paris, KY by Bro. Russell Wethington, Jr. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Saturday November 1, 2025, until the hour of service at the church.
