Robert Andrew Hempton, age 64, of Unionville, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025 at his home on hospice with family by his side. Robert was born in Flint on January 26, 1961, to David and Carol (Nash) Hempton. He attended Caro High School. In August 1984, he married Denise Wilson. Robert was a long time member of AA, enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, being outdoors, tinkering and being with his grandchildren. Over the years he was known to be a "Jack of All Trades" with working many different jobs at Michigan Sugar Company, truck driving, doing cement work, building sea walls, electric work and dry walling. Robert has a large family. He is survived by his wife, Denise; children: Nicole (Ben) DeHaan of Mass City, Daniel Hempton of Sebewaing, Jessica (Joseph) Schwartz of Sebewaing and the late Tyler Parrish; sister, Peggy Tucker-Manley and the late siblings: Theresa McElhinney and David Hempton, Jr.; grandchildren: Hope (Nathan) Miley, Ryan Reaver, Derek Reaver, Bree DeHaan, Gerald DeHaan, Michael, Theresa, Natalie, Jazmyne, Lexi, Winter, Rylie and William Hempton, Kylie LaPratt, Sophie and Alexander Schwartz and Tater Parrish; great grandchildren: Eris, Maverick and Arthur Miley; nieces and nephews: Donald (Kat) McElhinney, Anna (Jason) Martinson, David Hempton, III and Ivan Hempton. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Pastor Justin Kuhl will be officiating. A luncheon will follow at Son's Life Missionary Church in Sebewaing. Memorial donations may be given to the family.
