Robert Lee Henry, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer on July 12, 2023. Bob was born in Barre Vermont September 23, 1939 to Guilford and Florence (Coffin) Henry who preceded him in death as well as his sister Betty Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife Deanna Sue and his children Robert Todd (Tina) and Julie Diane Hahn (Tim) and 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. As well as his sister Joanne Prouty (David) and his brother Jim, 1 niece and 4 nephews and great nephews.
Bob attended Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana where he met his future bride Sue. They married in 1960 and in 1962 he volunteered for the United States Air Force. Stationed at Fairchild Airbase in Spokane, Washington, he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War as a computer operation specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1968 and served 2 more years on inactive duty. In 1968 he moved with his wife and 2 young children across the country to work for Strasenburgh Laboratories as a computer operation supervisor. He and Sue also created a successful ceramic and porcelain doll business from 1969 until 2011. He also volunteered at the Bushnell Basin fire department. Bob enjoyed life immensely, he loved traveling, camping, sailing and NASCAR. He loved helping others and taking care of his family. His fondest memories is of his family in Vermont on the family farm and the maple sugaring.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Wilmot Cancer Center, Wounded Warriors, or the Bushnell Basins Fire Department. A Celebration of Life will be at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Mendon New York on August 26, 2023 at 1 pm.
