From an early age, Robert excelled at school, particularly in Math, and was an exceptionally talented Trumpet player. By the sixth grade, he was invited to solo in front of a professional band. A few years later he traveled abroad, performing with the USO.
Robert is survived by his sisters, Marianne E. Nolan, Dianne M. McCollum, and Stephanie A. Cook.
Predeceased by his parents, John W. and Anna M. Hicks, and brother, John W. Hicks Jr.
Graveside service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, at 12:00pm at Woodbury Memorial Park, 879 Kings Hwy, West Deptford, NJ 08096.
