Robert William Hippe was born on May 2, 1948, in Los Angeles, California. He passed away on January 15, 2026.
Robert spent much of his early life on Catalina Island, where he lived for many years and shared countless days alongside his grandparents, Michael and Sarah Srour. The island became both a playground and a teacher for him, full of adventures and stories he loved to tell. It was also on Catalina that he met the love of his life, Linda, beginning a marriage that would become his greatest pride and partnership.
Robert came from a creative Hollywood background. His father, Louis Hippe, was a renowned makeup artist in the film industry, and as a teenager, Bob often helped his father with makeup work on set. Those early experiences gave him a glimpse into a unique world and left him with stories he enjoyed sharing throughout his life.
In his younger years, Bob was an avid surfer, drawn to the ocean and the freedom it offered. That love for movement and the outdoors stayed with him throughout his life, along with another lifelong passion—riding motorcycles. He had been riding since he was 16 years old, a hobby that brought him joy, adventure, and a sense of independence for decades.
Robert worked as a pipeline welder for 25 years, a career built with grit, skill, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. He later continued his work with the State of Arizona as a pipeline safety inspector, a role in which he took great responsibility and care. His work was steady, honest, and defined by the same thoroughness that showed up in everything he did.
Above all else, Robert was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Linda Hippe; his son, Sean Hippe, and grandchildren Nathan and Linlie; and his daughter, Dana McCurdy, her husband Brandon, and granddaughters Quinn and Piper. His legacy also carries forward in the lessons he passed down—about working hard, loving fiercely, and finding joy in the simple and steady parts of life.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Louis Hippe; his mother, Alma Buscaglia; his stepfather Guido Buscaglia; and his brother, Michael Hippe.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his humor, his stories of the island and Hollywood sets, and the steady way he showed up for the people he loved. Those who knew him will carry these memories with them always, grateful for the years they shared.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Quad City Christian Church, 501 S Senator Hwy, Prescott, AZ 86303
