Frankfort – James L. "Jim" Hippe, age 79, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Funeral services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. with Dr. Carl Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hippe was born on February 17, 1945, to the late James B. and Virginia Hippe. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserves 100th Division. Jim was retired from the City of Frankfort Police Department after 22 years of service. Following retirement, he worked at Farmer's Bank as a courier, and served the Legislative Research Commission and Kentucky House of Representatives as security. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #530 and Fraternal Order of Police. Jim was an avid gardener and fisherman, where he enjoyed spending time at Dale Hollow Lake.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Wilma Pulliam Hippe; daughters, Kathy Marshall (Bruce) and Beth Johnson (Tony); grandchildren, Kristen Dedman (Chase), Von Marshall, Drew Marshall, Avaya James Johnson, and Naya Mae Johnson; sisters-in-law, Vicky Pulliam and Missy Marshall (David); brothers-in-law, George Pulliam and Edgar Pulliam, Jr.; and beloved nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Marshall, Von Marshall, Drew Marshall, Tony Johnson, Chase Dedman, and David Marshall.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
