Robert (Bob) Hollister was born to Ford and Lela Hollister on August 12, 1938, in Nisswa, Minnesota. Bob and his family lived in Nisswa, Long Prairie and Little Falls with a detour to Lincoln, Nebraska for 5 years. After high school, Bob moved to the Twin Cities and began working as a machinist. He met his beloved wife, Videll Syverson, through mutual friends and relatives. Bob and Videll were married on August 30, 1958. They lived in St. Paul and Crystal before moving to the Isanti/Cambridge area where they raised three children-Lon, Wade, and Sherri. Bob worked as a mold maker for many years and "hobby" farmed for 15 years as well. After Bob retired, he and Videll enjoyed living in Hot Springs, SD for 10 years before coming back to Cambridge in 2015.
Bob will be remembered for his faith in God, kindness and his gentle spirit. Bob was always looking out for and helping others, be it relatives, friends and neighbors alike. Bob enjoyed fishing, drives with Videll exploring and photographing wildlife in the Black Hills and was an avid woodworker who made many beautiful pieces of furniture and cabinets.
Bob passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 9 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold; and sisters, Elsie Ramsden and Edna Hollister.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Videll; sons, Lon (Esther) and Wade (Vickie) and daughter, Sherri; grandchildren, Corey (Monica), Cody (Jeannie) Hollister, Karla (Ryan) Filibeck, and Kya (Cory) Henningson; and great-grandchildren, Maleah, Zarah, Willow, and Haven Hollister; Nova, Creelyn, and Oakley Hollister; Amalie and Talia Filibeck, Logan and Lincoln Picha. He is also survived by his sister, Blanche Fout of Hampton, VA; and nieces and nephews.
