Robert Hooks Obituary

Robert "Bob" Estle Hooks, lovingly known as Bobby, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2025, at the age of 80.

Born on July 28, 1945, in Washington Court House, Ohio, to George Washington Hooks and Fanny Murdell Row, Bob was the youngest of five children. Growing up surrounded by his four older sisters, Gloria, Martha, Erma, and Ann, he learned early the values of family, faith, and hard work that would guide him throughout his life.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Bob honorably served his country in Vietnam. After returning home, he built a lifelong career as a self-employed electrician, earning a reputation for his honesty, integrity, and craftsmanship. Bob believed in showing up early, working hard, and doing things right the first time. He was the kind of man who would fix your wiring, mow your lawn, and still make you laugh before he left. Whether lending a hand, teaching someone how to use a tool, or offering a word of encouragement, Bob lived by example quietly, faithfully, and wholeheartedly.

Bob's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father to Troy Hooks (Melissa) of Spotsylvania, Krystle Hooks Pickett (Josh) of Spotsylvania, Andy Hooks (Laura) of California, and Timmy Santini (Lisa) of North Carolina. He was a proud and loving "Paw Paw" to his grandchildren, Hayleigh, Peyton, Cooper, Maddox, Emma Sue, Sawyer, Brandon, Spencer, and Piper, each of whom brought him endless pride and joy.

Bob is also survived by his dear sister, Ann Hooks of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susie Hooks, who passed away in June 2015; and by his sisters, Martha Finck (April 2025), Gloria Russell (November 2022), and Erma Hooks (March 2006).

A man of steadfast faith, Bob loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior and found peace and purpose in that relationship. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as working in his yard, tinkering with cars, and camping, and he found deep satisfaction in a job well done. He lived with quiet strength, kindness, and grace, and he leaves behind a legacy of love that will never fade.

Now reunited with Susie, the love of his life, Bob's gentle spirit and generous heart will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him. His life was an example of faith in action, love without measure, and the power of a good man's hands and heart.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)

Always in our memories, forever in our hearts
