Oscar G. Miranda, born on July 14, 1943, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, passed away peacefully at his home in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, going home to be with the Lord and welcomed as another angel in Heaven.
If you knew Oscar, you knew his big heart and simple joys. He loved motorcycles and the open road feel. He kept a well-worn set of tools and never hesitated to fix broken things or spirits. He found fellowship and strength with his A group. He could spend an afternoon treasure-hunting in thrift and antique stores, and he delighted in the small ritual of a latte and a donut from Dunkin'. He met people where they were, and he left them better than he found them steady, kind, and faithful.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife, Maria Pantaleon; his children, Ana (husband, Giovanny) of Spotsylvania County, VA; Damaris of Stafford County, VA; Milton (wife, Leonor) of Culpeper, VA; and Oscar "Little Oscar" (wife, Stacy) of Colorado; and his stepchildren, Alma Vences (husband, Carlos) of
Fredericksburg, VA; Adriana Bright (husband, Michael) of South Carolina; and Rene Rojas of Georgia
He is also survived by grandchildren, Destiny, Alex, Gina (husband, Lee), Christian, Fabian, Calvin (fiancée, Pamela), Jalicia, Sebastian, Joseline, Jamari; step-grandchildren Andrea, Diego, Hannah, and Lucas; great-grandchildren Xander, Kamyl (fiancé Fred), Faith, Jovi, Joanna, Jianna, Heath, and Elias; great-great-granddaughter Isabelle; sons-in-law Freddy Gomez of Fairfax and Craig Blas of Emporia; and Stephen Mullins, the husband of his beloved granddaughter Brenda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Siriaca Miranda; his brothers, Rene Miranda and Carlos Ochoa; his son-in-law, James "Monte" Carter (deceased husband of his daughter Ana); his granddaughter, Brenda; and his former wife, Maria Lydia Miranda.
Oscar's family and friends will remember his faithful spirit, his steady hands, and the warm smile that made every room feel like home. May his memory be a blessing. May we honor him by loving one another as he loved us. In that same spirit, he would want us to forgive one another, set aside our differences, and reunite as a family.
"Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." - Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)
A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
