ROBERT EARL "DURL" HOWELL

Robert Earl “Durl” Howell, age 86, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 18, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Howell will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Lake Seminole Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Bradley and Bobby Glover officiating. Interment will follow in Seminole Shores Cemetery with Chad Smith, Christopher McCracken, Gavin Landin, Clayton Smith,  Adrian Watson, and Jonathan Atkinson serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church.

Mr. Howell was born in Crenshaw County, AL on June 6, 1939. He served in the Army National Guard and was a mechanic for Ryder Truck Rentals in Albany, GA before his retirement. Mr. Howell was a member of Lake Seminole Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. He loved fishing, carpentry work, and going for walks; however, his greatest love and enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 66 years, Janice Howell of Donalsonville, GA; his daughters, Lanita Price and husband Rusty of Donalsonville, GA and Lisa Posey and husband Milton of Sylvester, GA; his grandchildren, Chad Smith and wife Shannon of Donalsonville, GA, Misty McCracken of Sylvester, GA, and Christopher McCracken of Pitts, GA; his great grandchildren, Katlyn Landin and husband Gavin of Donalsonville, GA, Clayton Smith of Donalsonville, GA, Adrian Watson of Sylvester, GA, Skylar Watson of Sylvester, GA, Jensen McCracken of Nashville, GA, Journee McCracken of Nashville, GA, and Kyra Watson of Sylvester, GA; as well as his great great grandchildren, Aidan Watson of Sylvester, GA, Parker Landin of Donalsonville, GA, and Colsen Smith of Donalsonville, GA. Also surviving are his siblings, James Howell and wife Ocie of Vernon, FL, Elise Atkinson and husband Roger of Donalsonville, GA, and Eloise Lovering of Colquitt, GA; as well as his sister-in-law, Opal Howell of Crawfordville, FL.

Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents, as well as numerous siblings.
