Robert (Bob) Howieson passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, at the age of 87. Faith was always his guiding light, and he lived a life deeply rooted in love for his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4-7 p.m., at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11 a.m., at the United Church of Mapleton with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Sterling Cemetery.
Bob’s family was his world, and he measured the value of life through the love he gave to those closest to him. He spent many years farming and tending the flower beds on the farm alongside his beloved wife, Geraldine “Geri” (Hostetler) Howieson. Together, they created a life filled with warmth, care, beauty.
Bob was not only a dedicated family man, but also a connector and friend to many. His passion for sports – including curling, golf, baseball, football, and basketball – fueled his quiet competitiveness and allowed him to form lasting bonds with others. He always sought to bring positivity and meaningful conversation to his relationships, leaving a legacy of kindness and camaraderie.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine; children: Deb Eisler Michael (Jennifer) Howieson; grandchildren: Bob (Christina Brescia) Durn, William (Sara Sieberg) Howieson, Sydney (Mark Jirak), Isabella Howieson; and sister, Mary Beth Fritz.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gertrude Howieson.
His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
