Robert S. Hudak died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 30, 2025. He was 81.
Born in South Amboy, Robert was raised in Hopelawn and lived there most of his life. Robert volunteered for the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. He worked for 23 years with Max L. Brown in Carteret as an inside sales manager. Robert was also a volunteer firefighter with Hopelawn Fire Company and served as chief in 1975 and 1976.
A NY Yankees and Giants fan, Robert loved classic cars. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Michael, working on his 66 Dodge Charger and racing it at Raceway Park. His love of cars had him going to classic car show whenever he could. He also loved gardening and feeding the birds.
Robert was predeceased by his son, Michael, in 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Beverly (Scannell); daughter in law Lisa Hudak; granddaughter Marissa and her husband Kyle Ruchalski. Robert is also survived by his sisters Margaret Hudak and Elizabeth Sarik along with many nieces and nephews.
